Our Pact


To Join Talbot House, I Agree To:

  • Have at least 7 days of sobriety or have completed detox

  • Pass a negative drug screening at intake

  • Commit to a minimum 6-month stay and actively work through Steps 1–5 of the 12-step program


Financial Responsibility

  • Provide a $240 admission deposit (covers first and last week’s rent)

  • Pay $120 weekly or $480 monthly


Personal Responsibility

  • Bring my own clothing, bedding, food, and hygiene essentials

  • Attend 7 AA/NA meetings per week, including 3 mandatory on-site meetings

  • Obtain employment, a sponsor, and a home group within 2 weeks

  • Complete assigned service work, daily chores, and weekly responsibilities

  • Follow all house rules, including an 11:00 PM nightly curfew

By applying to Talbot House Louisville, each resident agrees to fully commit to the responsibilities, accountability, and structure required for successful sober living.

Medical & Legal Eligibility

  • Mild co-occurring mental health conditions may be accepted if properly treated

  • Severe, untreated psychiatric conditions may not qualify

  • Certain medications are reviewed individually

  • Outstanding legal warrants must be resolved before move-in

  • A safe place free of drugs, alcohol and anti-social behavior.

  • An environment that encourages and supports men to live a sober. lifestyle inside and outside the Talbot House walls.

  • Accountability to attend appropriate 12-Step meetings.

  • Accountability to have and remain in contact with a sponsor and a support group.
