Men at Talbot House agree to:
- Must have a recent (within 7 days) coronavirus test and proof of negative results
- Applicants have a minimum of 7 days substance- free or completed detox program.
- Must be able to provide a negative UDS screen upon intake
- Applicants are willing to verbally commit to 6 month minimum stay/complete steps 1-5
- Applicants must have a $240.00 deposit at time of admission. This will cover 1st and last week's rent.
- Residents will be required to pay $120.00 per week or $480.00 per month.
- Residents will need to bring their own clothing, bedding, food, and hygiene items
- Residents will be required to attend 7 A.A./N.A. meetings per week. This includes 3 mandatory meetings on property. Residents will be allowed to Zoom 1 meetings per week.
- Residents must obtain employment, sponsor, and home group within 2 weeks of admission.
- Residents are required to commit to doing service work and to complete a daily/weekly chore.
- All residents must abide by the 11:00 pm curfew nightly.
- Residents in compliance after thirty days may be eligible for a weekend pass to visit family, etc.
- We accept applicants with co-occurring psychiatric conditions such as anxiety and mild depression, so long as they are compliant with their medication regimen and under the care of a physician. The Talbot House is not equipped to handle severe and/or untreated psychiatric conditions, such as bi-polar with psychosis or schizophrenia. Residents are required to administer their own medication. The Talbot House does not dispense nor manage medications.
- Some individuals on scheduled or psychotropic medications may be deemed outside our scope of services due to the complexity of their medical conditions. Examples of such medications include scheduled or maintenance drugs. Staff reviews medications on a case-by-case basis
- Applicants with outstanding warrants need to be resolved before move-in. Those with felony assault charges and/or active EPO and DVO cases will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Talbot House agrees to provide the following for its men:
- A safe place free of drugs, alcohol and anti-social behavior.
- An environment that encourages and supports men to live a sober. lifestyle inside and outside the Talbot House walls.
- Accountability to attend appropriate 12-Step meetings.
- Accountability to have and remain in contact with a sponsor and a support group.
