John C. Heun, Director
Supporting and promoting individual growth in recovery is my passion. Guiding a team to do the above fills me with gratitude and helping provide life-changing hope, giving others support, and providing service is my calling. I have been driven to give back to the Talbot House as a graduate Alumni of the Talbot House Program in 2017. The Talbot House is the only true 3-phase transitional living house for men in the Louisville area comprising 3 different houses, providing A safe, structured, and accountable living environment for men seeking to live in sobriety. It is my honor to be Executive Director and help achieve our mission for men in need.
Prior to joining the Talbot House as Executive Director, in 2018 I was able to give back to The Brook Hospital - KMI where I first began my journey in sobriety. I began my career there as a Mental Health Associate and obtained my Temporary Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (TCADC), and Adult Peer Support Specialist (APSS) certifications.
I was born and raised in Louisville, graduating from Trinity High School in the Class of 1987. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1992 with a B.S. in Adult Corporate Health and Fitness and studied Police Administration. Today I enjoy spending my free time with my family, and doing sober things with my friends such as living a healthy lifestyle, working out in the gym regularly, and most importantly dedicating myself to a solid spiritual life of prayer.
These 3 things I AM truly grateful for today… Mind, Body and Spirit.
